It must be getting pretty difficult at this point for Panasonic to come up with new ways to show just how tough its Toughbook line of devices are, but it looks like the company's still got a few surprises in it, as evidenced by a new video that pits its Toughbook CF-U1 handheld against a Rammer. As you can probably guess, the Toughbook pictured above manages to pass the test easily, but there's also another surprise in store at the end -- head on past the break to see for yourself. Of course, Panasonic didn't let an opportunity for a bit of cross-promotion slip by -- it also shot the video on a Panasonic GH1.
Panasonic intends to make a splash in the projector market with three more models coming our way, where they will include the PT-DZ110X, PT-DS100X and the PT-DW100X. All of them will feel at home in large venues, since they are able to display a 10,000:1 contrast ratio. Both the DZ110X and DS100X are capable of supporting up to 10,600 ANSI lumens, while the DW100X is slightly less right at 9,600 ANSI lumens. The smallest among the three would be the DW100X which sports a WXGA (1366 x 768) resolution, while the DS100X will come with an SXGA+ (1400 x 1050) resolution followed by the DZ110X that is the big daddy of them all, capable of handling full HD resolution with its WUXGA (1920 x 1200) resolution. No word on pricing, but these will hit Europe first next month. We'll stay tuned as to whether they will make their way to the US later.
Panasonic launchesP the latest in the FZ-series, the digital camera LUMIX DMC-FZ40 digital with a 25mm ultra wide angle LEICA DC Vario-Elmarit 24x optical zoom with manual operations. The FZ40 is a follow-up of the FZ35 with 18x zoom.
The new FZ40 packs a 14.1 megapixel sensor and an inch LCD. It has Sonic Speed Auto Focus (AF), the Intelligent Auto (iA) mode POWER Optical Image Stabilizer (OIS). There is also the way my color that gives users the freedom to create a series of options, including the new Pin Hole, Film Grain, High Dynamic and High Dynamic B & W The long 24x zoom camera also records movies in HD format AVCHD Lite.
