WordPress Plugin: Regenerate Thumbnails

Few days ago i talked about the WordPress Plugin called “Generate Post Thumbnails” which enables you to generate thumbnail for any post taken from the image on the post or the one that you specified on the featured post image. And today, i’ll talk about another plugin related to WordPress Post Thumbnails called “Regenerate Thumbnails” from Viper007Bond blog.
Just like the name, this plugin will regenerate the thumbnails of the image you attached to a post when you specified the featured post image. This plugin is required when you change the default size of “Thumbnail image” on the Media Settings (Settings -> Media). The good thing about this plugin is, it enables you to either regenerate the thumbnails for the whole existing image or you can also regenerate individual image and specific number of images which you can choose from the “Media Library” on the Dashboard.
Take a look at the screenshots below. The first picture shows you the process to regenerate the thumbnails which includes all the existing images. On the second picture, you can browse individual images attached to any post where you can regenerate the thumbnails if required.

 

So, you can see the different between this plugin and the other one “Generate Post Thumbnails” plugin. The “Regenerate Thumbnails” plugin only regenerate/resize the thumbnails for images that are already uploaded and attached to the post through the “featured post image” while the “Generate Post Thumbnails” plugin can take the image from inside the post or external images. But i would say that the “Regenerate Thumbnails” plugin is more stable, has better interface and functionality.
