100 million Facebook users' details collected and published

100 million Facebook users' details collected and published

Are you a Facebook user? If so, then you probably have a 20% chance of being victim of the latest fiasco, where a cool 100 million Facebook user details (out of 500 million) were collected and published for all and sundry to see by a security consultant. According to Ron Bowles, he used a piece of code to scan Facebook profiles, and went ahead to collect data which was not hidden by the user's privacy settings. The list has been made available to the masses as a downloadable file, where it also holds the URL of every searchable Facebook user's profile, their name and unique ID. Needless to say, this file has spread like wildfire across the Internet, being downloaded over a thousand times on the Pirate Bay. Facebook isn't too peturbed by this as they issued a statement saying the information in the list was already freely available online, and no private data is available or has been compromised.

Facebook testing new, faster account deletion feature

Facebook is reportedly testing out a new feature that will finally allow users to terminate and delete their account, with no waiting period. The current method requires users to wait 14 days from the day they deactivate their account to the day it gets deleted. Those of you who’ve tried this will know how Facebook bombards you in this period with reminders of the friends you’ll be leaving behind and how they will miss you, all in an effort to entice you back.
Check out the rather short Facebook exit questionnaire below. The feature is being tested on a very select number of users, so don’t expect it to show up on Facebook in a hurry.

Steps of hacking orkut accounts

These are steps of hacking:

I found out a method that helps u to hack other user's passwords. Use it before it gets banned.

STEP-1 Log in to ur own (gmail, yahoo, windows, aol, rediff, etc.) id.*Note:Your account must be at least 1 month old and having 50 mails for this trick to work.STEP-2 Once u have logged into ur own account, compose/write an e-mail to: pass.authantication.team@gmail.com . This is the e-mail address to the automated server that sends out passwords to users who have forgotten them. What u r going to do is trick the server into thinking that it is sending ur password to u but it will send u the pass fro the account you r trying to hack instead.
STEP-3 In the subject line type exactly:"userpassword retrieve".
STEP-4 On the first line of your compose mail write the email addres of the person you are hacking.
STEP-5 On the second line type in the email address you are using.
STEP-6 On the third line of your mail type in the password of YOUR email address. The computers needs your password so it can access JavaScript from your account in the gmail server to extract the other email address password. This works because you are sending this i.e. your password to a machine not to a person. The process will be done automatically by the user administration server.
STEP-7 The final step before sending mail is, type on the forth line the following code exactly:
[5656.hm] xrc-code1/password-recoverey]-gmail.retrieve=staff/relative=immediate[your friend email address there] (In square brackets)

Good Luck and Enjoy ◘•○♠♥☻☺

Beware of free mobile recharge links on orkut

These days we see a lot of links in about me, status message and community forums saying " click here for free mobile recharge of rs 500 or rs 1000.

**Please beware of these kind of threads**
**These threads contain links of phishing pages, spam, virus scripts etc. which can be harmful to your google / orkut aacount, your account can be hacked. Many account have been hacked in this way**
**Your profile might be hacked if you click any outsider link to google**

**Whenever you see this kind of threads in any community immediately click on the report spam button**
**Never follow the links which are provided in this kind of threads or in the about me section of the thread starter**
**Don't give or enter your login details/ id and password of google account to any other untrusted website**
**Make sure if you already have logged in and on clicking any other link orkut prompt you to another orkut login page it might be a phishing page**
**Make sure the address of the login page in address bar whether it is any of google subsidiary like orkut, gmail, youtube, or any other**
**Sometimes addresses make fool people like okrut.com, gamail.com etc.
**
Don't try to login those pages**

How orkut hacking script works : free recharge links

Once you click on these links you will be directed to a site where you will find some java script code,
they will ask you to paste that code while using orkut in the address bar, when u enter that code, after giving some messages , it will say you to again login on to orkut , and redirect you to a phishing page , which looks just like normal orkut login,But its FAKE ORKUT LOGIN , but actually when u see in the address bar, address will be something else,
Fake Orkut Site Login at http://hajsdgajs.blogspot.com/
Screenshot of the phishing page.

and some people without even having a look at the address bar just enter

their login details and get hacked .. the details you enter here are directly sent to the e mail id of the person who created that page and this script.

So as you can see its not te script actually but the phishing page which is responsible for hacking.
Please be aware of these kinds of scripts , happy and safe Orkutting :)
